Growing up I always, always idolized my mom. I envied her amazing courage to actually go back to school when she was an adult with children and get her degree to become an RN. Now from my perspective being a parent and working full time must of been a really difficult thing to do. So for one reason being a nurse really inspired from her. The whole concept of helping sick or injured people in need really grabs my heart and attention. My whole group of aunts are nurses and they love every minute of their career. The impact you put on the people you care for is really special. Knowing that you could help a person in every way you can to make them in a better place is such a good feeling you must get. Now for me, when I am older I want to become an RN but for mainly the NICU. The NICU is a unit where pre-mature babies and sick babies are placed for advanced care and the hopes of them growing into regular healthy babies. Just like any medical profession it takes a lot of patience and big heart to become a nurse. Knowing in the back of your mind sometimes unfortunately the patients don't make it out as planned really saddens me but in that field you have to be prepared for loss and try to help the family that lost their child, loved one or even parent. I think it's such an amazing job but you really have to love it to continue it. For some people its really not their thing but for me I honestly really hope I enjoy it and get into it when I am getting off to go into college. I am so excited to see if I have what it takes to be a nurse and set off my career into a life time position.

TU Tuesday - Local
http://www.timesunion.com/local/article/5-hurt-driver-arrested-in-Schenectady-crash-3585965.php
In my article I read about a severe accident that happened in Schenectady that occurred last Friday. The driver was a woman by the name of Aisha Pounds and was pulled over just around 4 in the morning. Police stated "officers returned to their cruiser to check Pounds' motor vehicle information, she sped south on Hulett toward the Mont Pleasant neighborhood, police said. They added that she had lied to them about her identity because of an outstanding petit larceny warrant from Guilderland". Aisha pursued to speed off away from cops she had crashed right into a big telephone pole seriously injuring the passengers that were in the car with her. One victim and Aisha herself were taken to Albany Medical Center to get treated for their injuries."Three other passengers were taken to Ellis Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, a city police spokesman said. The sixth person in the car was not hurt." I think it's absolutely terrible that she put all the people in great danger including her self just because she decided to lie to the police. Aisha should be greatly punished for her actions and I wouldn't blame the people in the car to press charges on her. The final statement from police is "Pounds was charged with five counts of second-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree criminal impersonation, third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer, reckless driving and multiple traffic violations. She was to be arraigned in the hospital.". I'm really glad that she is getting charged with everything that she got, she deserves to go to jail for her poor decisions and I hope that every one that got hurt is going to turn out okay.

22. Why is our military so important?
In each and every country I believe it is very important to have a strong prepared military to protect and serve your country. Without our military I feel there would be a lot more conflict and our country would feel less safe to live in our country. Our military provides security for land and even water parts of our country to protect us as citizens. You have to have a lot of bravery and courage to join the military because it is not an easy job what so ever. I believe you have to give up a lot to be in the military even giving up spending time with your family.
Without the special training they use to protect us i feel like we would of lost a lot more battles our country wouldn't be who we are today. I am really thankful for having such a well prepped army and always ready to be armed for our country and people in our country should really respect them for everything they do for our country on a regular basis. The military gives us the real protection each and every country should feel they have.

Conversation Starters.
Ice Breakers
Where did you grow up? I grew up in Clifton park New York, I have moved from there to Colonie then to here in Guilderland
Do you have any pets? Yes I do, I have two dogs who are extremely annoying and obnoxious and I would much rather just settle with having a fish because they don't shed or make a bunch of noise.
Do you have any siblings? I have 1 real brother and his name is Tony, he is 27. Both my parents re married and I now have a step brother Steven who is 23, and a half sister Layla who is 8.
Do you know what your your name means? My name means "Heroine of God" or "Woman of God". It's really weird I never knew that about my name before.
What type of phone do you have? I have this Pan tech slide up phone which I absolutely despise. I want an Iphone so badly but of course AT&T has wicked long contracts.
What did you do this past weekend? This weekend I hung out with my friends on Friday and went to the Armory in Albany. On Saturday I went to my boyfriend's cousins baby shower and had a fire at my house. And finally on Sunday I jumped into my pool for the first time this year and it was the most frigid ice water I have ever experienced in my whole life and I will wait until the middle of June to ever jump in again.
What are your plans for this weekend? For this weekend I want to once again hang out with my friends again and I usually so that Friday and Saturday. Me and Mom will probably do some summer shopping because I am in desperate need of summer clothes and new sandles for the season.
What do you like to do in your spare time? In my spare time I really like spending time with my boyfriend Ricky. He's my best friend so I absolutely love every minute I get to see him because we get along so well.
What is the first thing you do when you wake up? Everyday when I wake up the first thing I most likely do is check my phone too see if I missed any messages when I was sleeping then I go on my laptop to wake up, very strange I know.
What is the last thing you do before you go to sleep? I talk on the phone with Ricky until I finally pass out then call it a night.
What is your middle name? Rose
What was the last thing you purchased? A
What is your favorite holiday? My birthday all the way. I love how the whole day is doing what you want and having all your friends over to get together. I always go out to dinner with everyone including my family on my birthday which I always love doing.
What is your favorite day of the week? Saturday! All the way because I know I get to sleep in and enjoy the rest and get a full nice charge so I am ready for the day to do whatever I do that day. The best part is knowing I am not in school makes it ten times better.
If you could meet anyone in history, who would it be? If I could meet anyone in history I would want to meet Rosa Parks because she made such an impact on the justice of different races and made the lead to having freedom for them.
What do you like to do to relax? I adore taking naps right after school, but when it's a really nice warm breezy day out I love taking a nice nap on my hammock its so relaxing.
Are you a saver or a spender? Definitely a saver, Whenever I get money I always try my best to put it away and save it for the longest time possible so if anything ever came up I would have some money and I can go and spend it on stuff that are actually reasonable and something I need.
Do you play any instruments? Oh no, I used to in middle school for the first year and dropped it right after because I hated missing class to go to those annoying lessons and I would always miss them and my teacher would freak out about not being responsible.

34. Should the alcoholic drinking age be increased or decreased
I believe that the drinking age should be decrease, now I'm not saying because I regularly practice drinking as my thing but I'm saying I think at the age of 18 it would be an appropriate drinking age for America.
- 18 would be an appropriate drinking age because 18 years old because at 18 many young adults are at the age of going off to collage to become adults. For some part you're on your own and you that's when you start making you're own decisions on what you want to do. You should have the mind set of knowing what it does to you and your body and the affects that it will cause.
- At 18 you can already buy cigarettes, weapons, go to war and buy other items that you don't need to be over the age of 21 over. So why not be able to buy alcohol at the age of 18? You should know all the facts of alcohol and what it does to your body as it can harm you. Cigarettes can harm your body just as much and people put the own risk to them selves.
- When you're 18 you want to be able to do the things you want to do and you get urges to rebel against parents and or cops. Many teens who are under ages drive home drunk because they are afraid to call their parents admitting that they are drunk to get a ride home and this may lead into a serious accident or getting pulled over and getting a DWI. So with lowering the age will increase peoples safety on the roads while driving home
- Lowering the drinking age would increase the restaurant and bar and grill economy because many people under the age of 21 want to enjoy the activity of drinking and should be able to get served at the age of 18. I say if the person gets hurt and or pulled over for drinking they should pay their own consequences by paying a fine or face legal consequences
- Also, many other surrounding countries have a drinking age under 21

TU Tuesday - Commencement Speech.
http://www.humanity.org/voices/commencements/bill-gates-harvard-university-speech-2007
http://www.teenink.com/nonfiction/all/article/282394/Inequality/
Life expectations and taking opportunities as an optimistic chance to change your life is the main route Steve Jobs was speaking about in his commencement speech. According to Steve Jobs he implies a very strong message “I hope you will judge yourselves not on your professional accomplishments alone, but also on how well you have addressed the world’s deepest inequities, on how well you treated people a world away who have nothing in common with you but their humanity.” Through out his whole speech he goes on with such powerful wisdom and thought that bring you to a peace of mind agreeing for me personally. I really like in the beginning how he addresses his own flaws not just jumping into how he is making a huge success out of his life. "I guess that makes me valedictorian of my own special class; I did the best of everyone who failed.". I liked how he brought up not only the graduates there but how he admitted that he knew nothing about the terrible impact of others in the outside world, starving children and other serious topics many Americans are uneducated about.
Steve Jobs brought up the fact we could make our work forces help and work for the unfortunate people by making more room and jobs for them too work actually. Which to me is a brilliant yet so simple idea that would put a lot of our even Americans out of debt. He said also "If we can find approaches that meet the needs of the poor in ways that generate profits for business and votes for politicians, we will have found a sustainable way to reduce inequity in the world." The key word I got out of this passage was "Inequality". Many citizens here feel there isn't a complete balance with society and feel they have no other choice in life but poverty. But, just like him he believes the common person thinks They say: “Inequity has been with us since the beginning, and will be with us till the end-because people just don’t care.” which is on my part true. I disagree with him as well and many people in our society have as much care and generosity to share among our people. As Steve said "We need to find our solution".
People in our today's world feel everything has to be perfect. Their looks, body, their grades and salary. Simplistically saying "Perfection is merely your everyday goals, the little things that make you smile and make you who you have come to be. Reaching perfection means reaching a feeling of happiness from doing what you love to do and also feeling absolutely wonderful from doing it. Perfection is the key to your comfort zone, never follow what others feel or think is the best" I absolutely agree with the author of this passage because it's true if people don't reach their key goal they feel they haven't met perfection. Which brings me to take your time with what you do, don't worry about anothers opinion and reach your goal. "Although another’s words may become of motivation to you, molding your life to fir another’s lifestyle will not guarantee you perfection or success. The only thing it is certain of doing is making you regret your choices in the future."

Tried and True.
Man, Well rough year first of all who ever is going through this patch of time. Well lets first off say this, breaking up is not a simple or easy thing to go through as my personal opinion yet I feel at least you will go through one tough heart tearing one in your life time. Well, according to facebook which for me is perfectly inaccurate but, here it shows the limits are really pushed with spring break and 2 weeks before Christmas. So, here's my personal advice to you. For not even every holiday but for every day circumstances watch out for your loved ones feelings toward you! You should feel you can openly talk to one another with out automatically thinking "we have to break up now". I guess if your attractive boy/girlfriend is a crazy one and is going on a all out bananza on spring break and you question your trust for them it's called sitting down and speaking to them not just throwing in the towel! I could understand why some people would break up on this event particularly but, to keep the peace and to keep the relationship on track tell your loved one how you feel if you feel its slipping away. I now know some things happen for a reason but you have to let things fall in place. From my point of view you should never break up with someone on a near or upcoming important holiday it absolutely crushed the other partner and they will be mentally broken! If you are going to break up with them please do it on a weekday so they can cope with their friends on the weekend or have a heart and try to at least fix the issue and not do it on a holiday where they are perfectly miserable. That's my relationship advice!

You've just written a 300-page autobiography. Send us
page 217. (University of Pennsylvania)
"I pull into North bridge drive on a hot summer afternoon with my elementary school friend Rachel. My mom said I will really like him and how happy he makes her. I analyze the small white house with the black shutters and the little steps it has in the front as we pull up. Out waits a little white fluffy dog barking at our feet waiting for us to come inside. I see my moms new boyfriend now husband Les appear at the door. He definitely wasn't as I pictured him to look like? He was more of a heavier set man and very tall but had the sweetest voice to him that made him seem so inviting. He brought us back into the backyard where I saw his giant pool with a slide that we couldn't wait to go on. Next to it was this giant bubbling hot tub steaming out the sides. We had so much fun that day from the splashing in the pool to the camp fire at the night time. From that point on I always loved going over Les's house and enjoyed seeing my mom finally so happy with someone. It wasn't long before we made the big move from Colonie to here at Guilderland when I was in 7th grade. I was actually really happy I got a new chance to make new friends and be in the same school as my best friend Lexy. Every summer now I absolutely love sitting out by the pool and in the winter going in the hot tub. Most of all I love seeing how happy my mom finally is with someone she found. "

The Rich and Famous.
My favorite actor has to be Ryan Reynolds. Ryan started to become famous in the Nickelodeon Television network series "Fifteen" in 1990. He played in other small films over the years between 1990-1998. He then landed his first big movie "Two guys one girl and a pizza shop" in 1998. My favorite movie Ryan stared in has to be "The Proposal". I think he is a attractive and funny actor. A lot of the movies he stars in he plays a role in a comedy love movie.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005351/bio
My favorite actress is Rachel McAdam's. Rachel started acting at the early age of just 13. She took a hit role in the movie many High school students know as "Mean Girls". She played the popular girl Regina. My favorite movie that she plays is a tie between "The Notebook" and "The Vow". I think she is such an amazing actress and takes her job very well and is liked by many people. Rachel always plays such attention grabbing roles and always says meaningful things in parts that she plays.

My favorite singer by far is Brad Paisley. I absolutely love country music and he sings is to perfection. He made his fist public start at the age of 10 at a local church. From then on he started writing his own music and began performing them. He's had various number one hit songs such as "Old Alabama"; "I'm gonna miss her"; "I'd wish you'd stay" and many more. My favorite song by him is "Love her like she's leaving" and "A letter to me". He writes a lot of love songs that really touch you when you hear them. I think he is a well rounded guy that has a true heart for his music and puts his soul into it when hes writing it.

98 Just When I Think I Am Done
Honestly I think the title in this explains so much about High school life it's not even funny. I find myself thinking this to myself almost daily. It comes down to it so much and it's really not the best feeling ever. I'll be thinking I'm writing this fantastic paper I wipe the sweat off my brow crack my cramping hands and I look down at the rubric and it will chime in "Oh hey guys make sure you you are adding this! "Or make sure to turn over this sheet when you're done!". Non-nonchalantly I'll just want to throw a brick at my computer screen because it means I have to erase about half my work and start from a deathly cold beginning which will end up taking me until my bed time which always isn't the best mixture waking up at 5:30 in the morning. I always think I'm just about done when look and realize I've done the wrong page number summary for Biology which I must say are really long... or do the wrong set of math problems. It drives me absolutely nuts, Yes I know it's partially my fault for not fully being aware of these simple errors but I always seem to run into this non stopping problem which will seem to be the death of me!

She is housebroken and obedience trained. She gets along with other dogs, but not with cats. She is shy and takes time to warm up to strangers. She should go to an owner who will do some type of training with her (Schutzhund, agility, tracking...) Febe is a working dog with lots of energy.

They say a dog is a mans best friend but in this case its shared with the love of a man and a woman. Carrie and I were in the honeymoon stage of our two month marriage just moving into a cute creamy green 2 bedroom house on Park Ave. in the town of East Nassau. Growing up Carrie and I both grew up with animals and absolutely adored them, and now we thought we wanted one of our own. A little step forward into developing our family down the road.
Our little Honda accord stretched into the beaten up driveway of a woman by the name of Sally Reel who posted an ad for German Shepard dogs on her 13 acre farm house. Carrie and I fell in love with the "Black and Tan" fur ball in the picture that came with the story behind her. As we arrive in the house the feeling of pure joy fills my heart as I see all the dogs running ramped through her yard. We see Sally whistle the dogs in as she sees us jump out of the car and head over to her front wrap around porch.
Looking at all the dogs one is particular caught our eye specifically. Sally mentioned to us " She is housebroken and obedience trained. She gets along with other dogs, but not with cats. She is shy and takes time to warm up to strangers. She should go to an owner who will do some type of training with her". Taking the mental note of the description we just absorbed we made a mental check list of all the things that came with her and she seemed like a perfect fit into our little world. Carrie and I sat down with Sally and went over all her needs and care taking that came with the girl and we agree with a smile that were taking her home that day.
We pile her into the car with her tongue hanging out in the August evening breeze. I remember it being such a beautiful night to have for us and all the memories that came with that single car ride. I turn to station 103.5 as their playing a commercial for a new episode of the new hit show "Friends" it tells all about how Febe and Rachel and Ross get in a dispute and it clicked. Febe! It fit perfectly with her outgoing little personality she had with her.
Till this day me and Carrie take Febe on those long car rides down on the back roads with our sin roof open and let her stick her furry little head out the top with her tongue hanging in the wind. It cracks us up to see how much shse grew into our lives and how perfectly she fits right into our lives. I'll never forget that warm August evening along with the happiness that perfect pup brought us.

Love to Know Slideshow.
How is your daily life different now than it was five years ago? How do you imagine your life will change in another five years?
My daily life has changed so much through out the past five years its hard to think back on how I was five years ago. It amazes me how much you can grow and change as a person just with in a five year range. Five years ago I was just a little kid still basically and still had a lot of hopes and dreams ahead of me still waiting to happen. My personal freedoms were still very little and sheltered compared to where I am now at almost 16 and little did I know how much changes I was going to go through. Looking at it now I really wonder what will happen five years from now because five years going back I had little to no clue I was going to be doing what I do today with all my hobbies and new people I have met through out the years. In five years though I hope to see my self in a great nursing school working full time to try to do my very best in starting out in a brand new world of living on my own I'd imagine? I hope that my life changes always for the better and I see myself doing good things for the world and I learn to be a very mature young adult. Seeing now five years seems so far away but it really comes up in a blink of an eye and I can't wait to see what the future holds for me.

What are these people celebrating?
Whoa, this looks like a crazy time? Seeing the wild jumping and pillow swinging I think its some kind of jungle party. The group of four friends must of got together to have an exciting get together and put their imaginations together to form this bed jumping spectacular it looks like? They all seem to be having an awesome time swinging around like monkeys on a tree. I'd love to join them in their own little pillow fight and re live the childhood book with the little monkeys getting hurt from horse playing on the bed and getting bumps on their head.

S = Screamin' Cinnamon Rolls w/Cream Cheese Frosting
1 cup of milk- Me and my little sister would race to the back of the store seeing who would find the best gallon of milk and hand off to my mom like it was a baton in a track race
1/4 cup of butter- Soupy and gooey just like a pool of sun colored ocean. You see it sink into the the bowl and over power the milk like an army of liquid. I would always dash to the microwave to pop it out and hand it to my mother and wait as she smiled to see me pour it into the giant bowl.
1/4 cup sugar- Little ice burg crystals would pile in the middle like little craters soaking up the pools of liquids. I always wanted to dive into the sugar bag and taste it all at once but my mother would laugh for the longest time when she saw me dipping my little chubby fingers into the sugar pile and take a quick taste of it all pretending I didn't see her look at me do it.
2 teaspoons yeast (one package)- Rising as a hot air balloon fills the oven around it creating little balls of yummy messy rolls I sit and watch like I was waiting for them to pop out of the oven and fly right into my watering mouth to satisfy my little tummy
1 egg- I'll always remember the day when my older brother Tony sat me down and created the craziest story on where eggs came from. Of course being 5 years old I believe everything and anything. The truth in his eyes as he told me the story swallowed me whole. He explained that when the mother hen laid her eggs a baby chick was in there, which is some part true. Ah, he began to tell me that once I crack open the eggs baby chicks were going to fly out of the eggs and try to eat me since I almost tried to cook them. I was so horrified and scared I never wanted to crack open a little egg for as long as I lived
1 teaspoon salt- I have to say I was never a huge fan of salt growing up. I always hated when people poured on the heart attack spice and never asked for it even on my french fries. Just a few years ago my taste buds had re arranged and I openly started taste testing around with the magic crystals that most Americans love and enjoy
3-1/2 cups flour- Me and my cousin Emily were always looking for something creative to get ourselves into when we were younger. My aunt Marie (her mom) makes the worlds best chocolate chip cookies in the world and one day when I came over for a sleepover she wanted to bake cookies with me and Emily. So my aunt left the room to grab something and me and my cousin started dipping out hands in the flower just testing the feeling and I made the courageous move of wiping my dirty white finger on her shirt. I believe it started the World War 3 in the creamy yellow kitchen as too it turned into a winter wonderland. We attacked each other in the battle field of cloudy fog until the shrieking of Aunt Marie busting into the room yelling " WHAT IS GOING ON?!". We all started bursting out laughing and I'll never forget the day.
Cream cheese frosting- Cream cheese has always been such a great thing in my world. I absolutely adore cream cheese frosting its actually my favorite kind. The way it oozes out of the clear package makes my whole mouth crave the whole package and just want to drink it, as crazy as that may sound!

Turn your Inkblot into a Butterfly.
High school is a huge change
influence and people cause you to change
people start to let go as some try to hold on
Some have a rough start and fall into
the deep depths of the wrong road
it starts with some missing homework's and
a few low tests
missing school came to be best
dropped grades came in and
your parents say "this isn't something you would do?"
Right then you need to look in the mirror and
really look and ask yourself
where do you want to be where do you want to go?
Pick your self back up and get back on track
Don't let others bring you down
and fall in the cracks
please realize this is the final
steps to the beginning of the rest of your life

TU Tuesday - Local
http://www.timesunion.com/local/article/Body-of-trooper-s-wife-found-3485968.php
In Waterford a state troopers wife Cynthia Gavitt's body was found "a half-mile north of Cohoes Falls on the east shoreline of the river." For a while the body was reported missing all the way up until Tuesday morning where they finally found her on the shoreline. Her body was missing since October 29th of last year.
"Her drowning has been ruled a suicide. Gavitt, who has been missing since Oct. 29, had experienced major medical problems since the beginning of 2011, according to state police." Clearly she had some serious medical conditions that her husband wasn't aware of... "police found her vehicle along Canal Road, just west of the Crescent Bridge and State Route 9 in Halfmoon".
Police claim that her body has no evidence that she was abducted or taken away by any means and they concluded that she did co mitt suicide in the river."There's no indication she was forcibly taken or there was any crime committed."Cynthia was a mother of two children that will be missed very much.
The theme of this article brings a really sad feeling over me because its sad that a mother of two children now are left mother-less and never saw it coming that their own mother would commit such a sad thing to end her life. The text does n;t explain much of the feeling that the family felt but you can tell just by the story that it is

Growing Older
I nearly forgot to wave goodbye to
I was so excited for what lay ahead
I was ready to take on anything
yet you’re not fully ready to live in the adult world, either
Despite I have yet to fully define who I want to become
this has forced me to pause my life at a time
when my peers are just beginning theirs.
I’m realizing that age is an inextricable component
I’m not suggesting to rush adulthood
Little did I know, about my future plans
it’s difficult to see ahead yourself
I don’t know what the future holds.
I just know I want to be there.
and all the rest of the small and big
milestones that are part of early adulthood.

Behind the Masterpieces
This is a painting of my beautiful out door pond just a little ways down my backyard. I can sit at the edge of this pond and just intake the beauty of its colors and unique plants it grows beneth. I love to see the schools of fish wiggle around the roots of the water lillies and pop up for food. I chose to paint this painting because of the happiness it brings me just to enjoy my time and finally relax here without the stresses of the real world. This place brings me to my own paradise where nothing can go wrong. I named this picture "Water lillies" because of the intreging flowering that bloom from the waters here. This piece here has to be one of my most favorite pieces yet because it's somewhere I honestly enjoy being and such a gorgeous scenery it has to it.

If I could have my childhood again I would......
If I could have my childhood again I would take every moment and spend it carefully. Childhood is a part of your life I feel goes by the fastest and yet sometimes people always want to grow up too fast. For me that's the exact opposite, I'd love to take back my childhood and re-live it all over again. My childhood was great, it was always filled with new adventures everyday. I would take advantage of nap time at noon again and all the days just playing on the playground at school. I would love going to sleep early with all my toys and wake up to my mom making my lunch and sending me off to the easy life of school. When you're younger many more things are less care free and you don't have much to worry about except what toy you have and when recess starts. If I was a little kid again I would take pictures of all the people that came across my life that I no longer talk to so I could reflect on them later on in life. I would spend as much time as I could enjoying actually not worrying about whats going to happen next and take life as it comes at me then.

Heightened Description
I was just about to turn off the sink and close the top of the cold crisp water bottle my mother just asked me to fill. My short tiny legs could barely reach the handles of the sink so I pull up a stool to stand my self on. Closing it tight and just about to leap off the stool a flash before my own eyes had happened. A huge swipe of taking one wrong step lead to a bloody mess all over my clean pearly white bathroom. Frantically screaming all over the place like a chicken with its head cut off i dash to the living room where my mom currently was. Springing from her chair she rushed to my assistance and staring in complete awe. Signaling my older brother to dial 911 i felt the sensation of the thick blood run down my face and drip onto the floor. My mom pressed a warm moist wash cloth to the wound and sat me down. The world around me felt fuzzy and almost like I was on a merry-go-round. It felt like seconds but I heard the loud booming of the sirens pull into the drive way and the heard of EMT's pile into my living room. They slapped open the stretcher and raced me to St. Peters hospital, come to find out I had to get 20 stitches in my left eye had to stay over night in the hospital from smacking my head against the sink of my bathroom.

2. I see a girl riding a big tiger
3. I see a sail boat sailing in a lake or water
"A wild ride"
I race down a speeding river
my raft is heading to the deep
as I see a curious evil head
surface the blue water
I hop off my raft and jump
on a fierce orange and black tiger
rampaging through the forest we
reach the blue lagoon
Sailing through the thick
tropical air I make it to
the shore and embrace
the new home land I now call home

TU Tuesday - Presidential Speeches
http://avalon.law.yale.edu/19th_century/gettyb.asp
I chose Abraham Lincoln's speech "The Gettysburg Address" after the success over the win of the American Revolution. This speech brought a more of an uplifting and more positive mood over the mourning aspect of it. Abraham's speech was incredibly well thought out and written and put a huge impact of gratefulness over our own nation. The two minute speech was given right after Edward Everett's 2 hour speech the audience was said to have been in shock because of the tone and grace of his speech it was such a great piece. In the whole piece I'd have to say my favorite part is "Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived, and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battlefield of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of it, as a final resting place for those who died here, that the nation might live." I like that part because it states that not only did they come and fight until their final deaths but that the nation will still progress as one after all that it's been through through out the time fighting. Even at the end he writes "that we here highly resolve these dead shall not have died in vain; that the nation, shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people by the people for the people, shall not perish from the earth." The ending is so powerful to me because it means that they are ready for a new start with our nation and are ready to pick up the pieces and start fresh. This speech is an amazing example of success and pure breathtaking master piece.

Bucket List
1. Become a RN for the NICU in a good hospital- My dream has always been to become a nurse just like my mom is. I absolutely love babies and I think working with sick babies and try to recover them will be such a great impact on my own life.
2. Travel to Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii- Right after high school and from there I want to travel to these places because they are all absolutely beautiful and I want to go surfing on their beaches and explore around the areas.
3. Do a cross country road trip- Me and my best friend Lexy have always dreamed of doing a cross country road trip at some point of our lives to visit each of the states and experience new life styles they live in.
4. Jump off a waterfall- I would like to jump off a water fall because it seems so exhilarating and extremely fun to do. I always have seen pictures of people doing that and have been dieing to give it a try!
5. Fall in love and get married- Nothing I want to rush into because I'm so young still but I want to see myself married with someone I can spend the rest of my life with and have the possibility of staying with that one exact person for the rest of my life and grow old with them.
6. Sing country karaoke with my best friend in front of a huge crowd- At the fair each year in Altamont I always see people sing karaoke and have never gotten the real courage to do it but honestly this year me and my best friend are just going to do it for real.
7. Ride in a kangaroo's pouch- This is honestly so out there but I have always been urging to do this since they look so inviting and I just want to hop around in a pouch for an hour or so and see if I like it.
8. Discover something useful- I want to discover something that would be an actually impact into someones life style and that I would actually become famous for it.
9. Go crowd surfing- Honestly who wouldn't want to go crowd surfing? Its like flying on peoples hands and it's a brilliant idea
10. Give a stranger $50.00- Don't ask me why someone would just give away $50.00 but I would love to see the expression on someone's face of them receiving the money and if I was the stranger getting the money you best believe that would make my day so why not make someones day?

R = Ruby Tuesdays
My restaurant is Ruby Tuesday's which is not only located in Guilder land in Cross gates mall but it is a chain restaurant that is spread across the United States. Ruby Tuesday's has an amazing salad bar that comes with a lot of the meals that you purchase and for me person think they have really good hamburgers there. In the restaurant it's usually dim and does have almost like a sports bar like feel to it but at the same time you can go there to have a really nice meal. The restaurant has really cool pictures and things covering the walls and the waiters are really comfortable with having a good conversation with the costumers. They never take too long with serving you the meal that you ordered even when the place is really packed, they get right on the meal. I feel the prices for Ruby Tuesday's are completely reasonable for a family dinner or just going out to get a quick bite with friends they serve a wide menu with many options you can chose from but is mainly your typical all American food type restaurant serving hamburgers and pastas with great steaks too. Ruby Tuesday's has an excellent dessert menu so you can go to this place for your Birthdays to celebrate and get awesome deserts to go along with your meal.

Revisions
1.Changing the World
In a world where opinions are wealth
and different ideas are expressed with open minds
where judgment didn't exist
and being different from everyone else is okay
In a world where no fighting came about
where peace was worldwide instead of
all battling against each other for
years and years on end
In a world where everyone is equal
where skin color didn't mean anything
but different shades on the color wheel
and we were all in this together
In a world where we help one another
fight through the troubles that may come along
where we all come together as one and
take on the world as it comes at us
2. A Lesson Learned
Start off with a dash of never certain
And always second guessing things
A cup of honesty and knowing when I’m at fault
Make sure to add a big heart and a wild soul
With a teaspoon of young teenage life
Mix together a sorry voice
With trying to find out where I belong still
Don’t forget a sprinkle of innocence and
A cup of freedom
Take out 25 years to life if found
Guilty and now place home safe and sound
2. One of your poems, A Lesson Learned, was a close runner-up for publication. Some of your lines were absolutely brilliant, especially the beginning of the poem.
Start off with a dash of never certain/and always second guessing things.....
The rhythm is perfect, the language original, I fell in love with this poem. I did not choose it for publication because I thought the end did not live up to the beginning, and in fact was a bit confusing. Maybe a word was missing? Not sure.....
Anyway - I would also change the title of this poem (it looked like a prompt), and fix the end, and you have a great poem!
3. Unfinished Me
Start off with a dash of never certain
And always second guessing things
A cup of honesty and knowing when I’m at fault
Make sure to add a big heart and a wild soul
With a teaspoon of young teenage life
Mix together a sorry voice
With trying to find out where I belong still
Don’t forget a sprinkle of innocence and
A cup of freedom
Bake until the court dismisses and the
clock has finally stopped facing back toward me
take a big bite to a lesson learned
4. I think my revised poem is honestly so much better than my original piece. Mimi definitely made complete sense with what she said about changing my ending to my poem she was right it really didn't make much sense with the rhythm of the whole poem. I changed the whole ending of my poem to try to match it up with the rest of the poem and changed the title too. I think my title makes a better fit with the whole poem itself instead of " A lesson learned". I was really surprised when she said my poem was a real close runner up to being published I never thought that it was really grab her attention since it was a poem that I didn't really work as hard as I did with some of my other ones.

Guest Speaker: Cheryl Charbonneau
Poise: Cheryl was extremely good at giving a good connection with our class, even though she didn't give eye contact with the students while doing her skit she brought so much emotion with her part it made you really pay attention to her and want to keep listening for more.
Clarity: When she was doing her skit of the part she was performing Cheryl used so much meaning with her words that actually made you understand what she was actually saying because she was speaking them out to the audience really loudly and clearly so everyone could hear her and she wasn't mumbling and walking all over the place so we could keep track of what she was saying to us.
Volume: As I just stated in the paragraph before I think she did an excellent job really grabbing our attention with her really loud voice that made us really pay attention to her and actually listen to her speak her parts.
Information: Her parts that she performed to the audience were really interesting stories that we have personally never heard of before so I thought it was cool hearing them. I think in her first skit she performed she added too much of yapping such as her character was really annoying but she did a really good job acting her out a a character. I think she could of cut that one a bit shorter and just got on with the performance part of her skit.
Organization: I think that her organization was thoroughly good for the most part I feel that most of us for her first skit honestly didn't really grasp was she was trying to perform or what her character was trying to achieve in her part but after she was done performing it she explained her skit over to again again and told us how she put together the whole thing from start to finish using the pictures on the website and re-reading all of her script.
I think overall our class did a good job with listening to her speak, I think we all thought it was a new experience since we have never done this kind of thing before so it was a new start and I personally don't enjoy speaking or acting in front of people but if that's your thing then I think you will honestly really enjoy this unit of study.
I would recommend her back into the classroom next year I thought she was an amazing actress and great in theater. She sets a really good example of the unit and gets us off to a really good start of how to start the whole project, she did a good job explaining everything to us and how were supposed to do it all and put it all together as one thing.

TU Tuesday - P of S
http://www.timesunion.com/news/article/On-Valentine-s-day-a-museum-for-broken-hearts-3311060.php
The article I read about was on a museum in ZAGREB, Croatia displaying cases of love and heart break and "how people go through love". The museum of broken relationships has "stories of each with written testimonies telling tales of passion, romance and heartbreak." People visit the museum to get a good laugh at some of the stories they see or sometimes necessarily to "get better" over the heart break. The cases show crazy happenings of the people dealing with stories of break ups such as "An ax from Berlin was used by a woman to smash every piece of furniture her girlfriend had left behind.;"Some are bitter. The garden gnome flew over a car driven by a husband who turned "arrogant and heartless".
"The museum itself is the brainchild of a breakup. When Grubisic and co-founder Olinka Vistica, a filmmaker, split up, they got stuck when it came to dividing their sentimental memorabilia. They didn't want to just get rid of it, so they created a museum." I think the museum is a great coping method for people to use when they are experiencing a rough time in their break up and it's a good way to bring a laugh or smile out in them. "They can move on," he said. "They also show there's something universal: We all have been brokenhearted at least once."

Valentines Day
Write a letter to your Mom or Dad telling them why you love them.
Dear Mom,
I couldn't tell you how much I really love you because well there isn't enough words on the page for it. I want to thank you now for all the times that you had put up with my gross attitude and when ever I have not been your favorite person to be around. You are always there for me when ever I possibly need you and you have given me so many things to be thankful for in a mom. People always say that they have the best mom in the world but I really think that I have the best, no one could really compare to you and what you do for me. You are always so supportive of me in my school work and gymnastics and always tell how much you are proud of me and it really makes my day. I really look up to you for everything that you do and you being a nurse inspires me so much to go to collage and become one right along with you. You help save lives everyday and for that you are such a special person. You are a really important person in my life and you put a huge impact on everything I do and always are looking out for me to make the best decisions. Thank you so much for being the greatest mom in the world and loving me so much. Happy Valentines day!

My blog prompt
In some point of time in life we all will come to a point where we made a poor judgement call or a really bad choice. We are human we all make mistakes, and soon to come to learn afterward how the bad choice came to affect us in the long run. Describe a time in your life where you made a bad choice or got in trouble for doing something you didn't think through.
A time last year I went through a phase where I thought it would be totally okay if I didn't study anymore for my tests and I would pass if I didn't do my homework because I saw other people around me do it. Not knowing that high school is where my career starts and where things actually get serious here. Tests came along in my classes and I decided to wing them and ended up doing poorly on them and homework just didn;t get done. Instead I went home and hung out with my friends for awhile and then went on the computer. My grades dropped tramendesly within a short period of time and I saw my report card and couldn't believe the results. I got punished for my poor grades and my mom explained to me what would happen in my life if I didn't put my effort into my work, I would end up not going to collage and getting a proper education to actually go somewhere in life. The new quarter in school started and I really thought it was about time to turn my act around adn stop hanging out with the people that I was that influenced me to do poorly in school. The next interm report came along and my grades were back up to a good average and I felt so good that I could see the improvment in myself.

SCRUPLE
You find a wallet containing $300. By the address, you can tell that the owner is wealthy. Do you keep the money?
If I ever came across a wallet that had three hundred dollars I believe I would take the money in the wallet. I say this for a couple of reasons one, the owner of the wallet was the irresponsible one and dropped it on the ground containing the three hundred dollars and it just so happens I was the lucky one who had came across it. I feel honestly if anyone found three hundred dollars somewhere in their mind they would want to take possession of that money. But on the other hand my answer for this question is no too because if I ad dropped the wallet myself and I had left three hundred dollars I would gladly appriciate it if someone called me up to return it to me and I would probably honestly give them the three hundred dollars for their honesty and respect toward me. I would also be afraid of the consequence of getting arrested for stealing if someone ever saw me picking up ther wallet and they found out it actually wasn't mine you would just look really pathetic and I would start to feel guilty at the end of the day knowing someone is most definately looking for it.

Are you more like a red panda or like a rattle snake?
- Rachel: "I'm more like a red panda because I don't like going around eating little animals and scaring people because a lot of people are freaked out by snakes"
- Tyler: " Probably more like a raddle snake because they are a more dominant animal and they have more control and I feel like I am a more controlling dominant person"
- Emily: " I'm more of a rattle snake because red panda's are really calm and seem to have a quiet personality and my personality seems to match up to a rattle sanke where it's more of an crazier animal to be"
- Michaela: " I guess more of a panda because they are a more laid back animal and not viciously eating animals all the time as thier prey and I am more on the quietter side"
- Chloe: " Deffinately a panda because they are absolutely adorable and they seem so innocent and never would harm a fly and rattle snakes are like dangerous and totally freak me out in every way possible"
- Ricky: " Rattle snake because it's more of a guy type animal and it has a trait like boys. They are more of an out going type animal and very sneaky tiny animals but have so much power to them at the same time"

Amanda Talar that I chose to learn more about
http://blackboard.neric.org/webapps/portal/frameset.jsp?tab_id=_2_1&url=%2fwebapps%2fblackboard%2fexecute%2flauncher%3ftype%3dCourse%26id%3d_2264_1%26url%3d

Amanda Talar is "a (late) twenty-something who can’t help but wonder about the mysteries of dating, people and life in general." She seems like she is a really friendly open minded girl who likes to express her feelings on here with her blogging. Today I read her article about songs that make you reflect on a past memory or people in your life. She wrote "It often makes me wonder what makes a moment something that will stick with us for years to come, possibly even for the rest of our lives? I find myself remembering the smallest details of a memory that can come rushing back to me instantly". This article really grabbed my attention because I always find my self either scrolling through my ipod or listening to the car radio and coming across a song that really brings me back to a time in my life where it reminds me a good memory or a person that had really put an impact in my life. Agreeing with her on her question "What is it that makes us remember certain moments of our lives?". Thinking about it now it's crazy how much songs will go about and describe just what your feeling at that point in your life or bring you back to a certain time. She describes this feeling just like a dream that you awoke out of and simply think to yourself "Wow. That was crazy. I need to remember this dream later this morning. And, you wake up maybe hours later and for the life of you — have no idea what the dream was about. So, maybe we often remember the moments we don’t realize are actually moments at the time?" As I now listen to the radio I always will keep track of the lyrics in each song and relate to them in each point of my life now just as Amanda has and making me realize what the song is really saying and how it really can bring back the good old times in your life.

My life motto
"Goal – I aim straightforward and emphasize and evaluate what I want to achieve often."
I feel goal describes my life motto the best in many different aspects. I think most of the time I always try to find the main thing of what I am trying to achieve and what's the best way of trying to reach it. I try to always sort out my goals and see which ones are the most realistic ones that can be reached first and which ones are the longer term goals for my life. For my goals I tend to always figure out what exactly I want to set first then do my very best to work on it day by day to fulfill it. An example of one of my goals is to become a nurse when I'm older, so evaluating it I look for classes I can take now in highschool that might help me out in the long run entering collage and becoming a nurse. I feel laying out what you want to do in your life with every goal will help you try to achieve it faster.

Feelings I feel
I am utterly disgusted by when people pick their nose in pure daylight and either wipe it on their pants, smear it on their hand or arm and even worse when they actually eat them... I honestly don't understand why some people don't have the common curtesy to go to the bathroom at least and grab some toilet paper. People wonder why gross colds and sicknesses get spread around its from these people I'm telling you now. If we make it out to people how serious and important it is to wash your hands after you do your snot show I feel we would have a lot less colds being sent around. For people who straight out pick thier nose's in public, we do see you so I don't know why you think your fooling us by pretending to "scratch your nose" casually we all know what you're doing. Whenever I see this it really makes me want to shake the person and show them what a box of tissues are and some hand sanitizer is. This is one of the many things that utterly disgusts me that people do in this world.

Poem
In a world where opinions are wealth
and different ideas are expressed with open minds
where judgment didn't exist
and being different from everyone else is okay
In a world where no fighting came about
where peace was world wide instead of
all battling against each other for
years and years on end
In a world where everyone is equal
where skin color didn't mean anything
but different shades on the color wheel
and we were all in this together
In a world where we help one another
fight through the troubles that may come along
where we all come together as one and
take on the world as it comes at us
and different ideas are expressed with open minds
where judgment didn't exist
and being different from everyone else is okay
In a world where no fighting came about
where peace was world wide instead of
all battling against each other for
years and years on end
In a world where everyone is equal

Nursery Rhymes ARE Relevant to Life
You put your right foot in,
You put your right foot out;
You put your right foot in, And you shake it all about. You do the Hokey-Pokey, And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about! You put your left foot in, You put your left foot out;
You put your left foot in, And you shake it all about. You do the Hokey-Pokey, And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about! CONT.
This nursery reminds me of my mom's bestfriend Bev. When I was little I used to go to her house all the time and play with her kids that are my age too. When I was ever in a little bad mood or anything she would just start singing this song and it would make me laugh so hard because she would start dancing along to it until I finally got up and danced with her. I always remember that about her whenever I see her and honestly she still does it to this day and I start cracking up every single time. It's the little things about growing up that always wil stay with you and this happens to be one of them. She always told me that in my wedding when I grow up that this song will be playing and she will be right up there dancing along to it. Hearing this song always takes me back to the simple days of being a kid and never wanting to grow up, I always will make this song my favorite nursery ryme.

TU Tuesday- Tanka
Reading through the given article I thought it was a really interesting and attention grabbing piece on Japan. It really opened my eyes to how serious the tsunami affected Japan and how hard it was for them to talk about it. People who were present in the ceremony expressed their dark past as they tell about the day it happened, coming from the imperial family: "expresses his sorrow and horror in watching the dark waves of the rolling tsunami on TV news footage." The poem shown was so simple yet everything was perfectly said within the lines and was really easy to comprehend. You could feel the how the writer was feeling when he wrote this poem how bad the storm affected his life since then. Not only was her poem acknowledged but a few other poems were read about their lives and how terrified they were when this was all happening.
The revived beginning
New faces new lives
are started before our eyes
the past is over now
we bow our heads now
the future holds great new things
look at all the change we bring

Comic Connection
I chose this comic because this reminded me from a time last year when me and my two sisters went sledding in the neighborhood. It was just like this where a fresh snow storm had just blew in from the night before and we wanted to break in the new snow. My sister carly discovered a brand new huge hill somewhere in the neighborhood and wanted to show us it to try out our new tubes and sleds. We all bunddled up in our gloves and puffy snowpants and took off into the freezing weather. Going toward our shed to pick up our sleds we only found a couple tubes and a tobagin... Wondering where our sleds from the previous year went, we didn't have the paticiants to search so we hauled out the tobagin and set off for the hill. Lugging that huge thing around probably got me a work out for the rest of the week but we all thought it was well worth it when we finally arrived at this huge hill! We couldn't even believe it when we came up to it, how could we have not seen this before? We all plopped down on the tobagin since none of us had the guts to go first on the hill so we went all together. With the frosty wind chill blowing in our faces we pushing off the ledge going full speed down the hill. It had a thin sheet of ice on the top which made the hill extra slippery and more speed for us. Gripping on for dear life since I was the onbe steering this thing i landed us off a jump kids must of made from the week before and sent us crashing into some bushes with two children scattered across the snow. It was by far the most scariest experience of my life and I can't wait to do it again this year.

Tu- Tuesday Monster
http://www.timesunion.com/default/article/Iowa-mother-arrested-in-death-of-twin-girls-2457600.php
What is first degree murder? How do you get charged with two counts of the same thing?
http://criminal-law.freeadvice.com/criminal-law/violent_crimes/degrees.murder.htm
The times and union article I red was about a young mother getting charged and arrested with the murder of her two twin baby girls. The two babies were finally found in the trunk of her car in Iowa dead. The police and detectives did firther research on the mother and found out she never even gave birth to the children at a hospital she gave birth to them in her own house? I thought that was really strange and not something you hear about daily. Later on to find the kids bodies left in the trunk at the home of Jackie Burkle. Jackie was arrested finally and she was charged with first degree murder. I learned that first degree murder is defined as the murder was "planned or thought out and willfully". Basically the killing was not on accident and the person had every clue in thier mind of what they were doing when they were committing the crime. So learning the main idea of what first degree murder was I'm guessing the mother of these two children had planned out in her mind that she had a long term plan of killing them and disposing thier bodies not expecting to get caught, maybe that's why she gave birth to them in her own home and not in a hospital where they could keep records and other health things of her children?

Pep Talk
Turn “can do” into “can did”.
This pep talk really reminded me about the time when I was in tumbling and finally got my back hand spring for the first time. I had been in the class at the time for around two months and most of the girls in the class had gotten thier back hand springs and were moving onto thier back tucks and so on. Me and my friend Nicole had joined the class later on in the year so we had some catching up to do. My teacher Matt had started us out on a long trampoline called the tumble track where we would practice with him and he would spot us in the mean time beofre he felt comfortable letting us do it on our own. Finally one night it was my turn to step up and do my round of back handsprings. In previous classes he told me I was so close to getting it and this time around he wanted to see what I could do on my own. My heart beating out of my cheast I ran down the tumble track and flew in the air for what it seemed like 5 minutes really only was about 5 seconds and landed perfectly on my feet on the other side. Not knowing what I even just did everyone in the class started clapping and smiling and yelling my name, I had just pulled my back handspring for the first time by myself. I was so relived that it finally happened and that I could now say I can do it. From that day on I would never really doubt myself in believing I can't do something because when you work hard and believe you can full fill it one day.
